This tip is exclusively for those parents who want to disable YouTube in mobile phone.
1. Disable YouTube in Google Chrome (or any browser)
- Open Chrome
- Tap on three dots to see settings
- Tap on settings
- Go to Site Settings (below Advanced)
- Tap on JavaScript
- Tap on '+ADD SITE EXCEPTION'
- Add site URL pop will come. Add these Site URLs one by one
- www.youtube.com
- m.youtube.com
- youtube.com
- www.google.com
- Exit Google Chrome
2. Disable opening link by YouTube
- Open Settings
- Search 'Apps list' or Apps
- Tap on YouTube
- Tap on Open by default or find Open supported links
- Set Don't allow app to open links
3. Uninstall/ Disable / Hide YouTube App
- Open Settings
- Search 'Apps list' or Apps
- Tap on App lock
- Set Your Pattern or Lock
- Go to Hide Apps
- Hide YouTube
4. If you hide YouTube App , children may try to install from Play Store.
To avoid this, we will use a dummy YouTube App. It will only display some error 'YouTube unable to fetch videos'.
No permission is required for the app. You may download the app from this link - YouTube.apk
